The Pool at Saguaro Sanctuary: Desert Evenings in Cave Creek

Cave Creek Arizona Retreat and Outdoor Pool

In the Arizona desert, the best part of the day often comes after the sun goes down. The sky shifts to orange and violet, the air cools, and nobody is in a hurry to go back inside. At Saguaro Sanctuary, the pool is where a lot of those evenings happen.

A pool that belongs to your group

The pool sits inside a fenced area on the property's private acre, with a wide deck and a row of lounge chairs facing the water. There's no hotel crowd and no reserving a chair before breakfast. For the length of your stay, it belongs to your group alone.

The garden around it

What sets the space apart is the landscape. Saguaro and barrel cactus, desert trees, and large boulders surround the deck, with low lights set into the planting beds. The garden is built from the same plants you'll see on the trails around Cave Creek, so the pool feels like part of the Sonoran Desert rather than a manicured resort.

How groups use it

Over a few days, the pool tends to become the default meeting spot. Kids can stay in the water while the adults read on the loungers. Between pickleball games, it's the quickest way to cool off. In the evening, a last swim while the sky changes color turns into dinner at the outdoor kitchen, then a fire in the firepit or a soak in the hot tub. Everything sits on the same acre, so moving from one to the next takes a few steps.

When to come

The cooler months from October through May are the most comfortable time to spend whole days outside in Cave Creek. That window covers fall birthdays, holiday reunions, and spring golf trips, which is when a private pool and a long evening outdoors are worth the most.
